I got a call from my mother today and she told me that she wanted me to come over so that she could show me her brand-new valances and swags. I told her that I had no idea what those were, but then she reminded me that she had totally remodeled her entire living room. This whole affair ended up taking the better part of the last month, so now that it was finally finished she wanted to do a little bit of showing off. She wanted me to bring my wife and daughter because she wanted them to see her cool swags.

My wife explained to me what these were on the way over, and when we got there I realized that they were actually pretty neat. As soon as I walked in to the home that I grew up in I realized that I was stepping into a completely different place. The living room was absolutely unrecognizable and it looked like something out of a Hollywood movie. She had these really cool gold window toppers, which you’d think would be kind of gaudy but looked really chic. I told her how lovely I thought everything was and then we went out to the patio and barbecued up some steaks.
